I am acutely aware of the job market in our current economy. I was fired from my nursing job in February of this year. A friend of mine that I used to work with called me today and told me she had been fired today. And the reason they gave her was that she did not leave on time; she was always getting out late because of charting. We are both highly trained critical care RNs. She’s upset; I see it as a Blessing and an Opportunity.
Ironically, my older son called me tonight. My younger son had apparently called him and told him (paraphrased) ”I was losing my mind. I was not working and did not want to even look for a job.” Yep, that’s right. For 30 years, I have worked almost 80 hours per week. Or worked full time plus and went to school full time. I’m done with it. I firmly believe I will now make my living from a virtual position. Make my money from doing what I love.
